Be a customer champion

Focusing on user needs and creating seamless solutions for their needs, should be in a designer's DNA. I encourage my team to always have a user-first approach, consider the user journey, and be empathetic while building experiences. The question I ask is -"How would you want to do this task if it were you?"

Have trusted partnerships

I create trust and alignment between partners with a one-team mindset. This is key to achieving focused outcomes aligned to larger business goals.

Systemic design thinking

It is important to have a view of the entire user ecosystem and not just a narrow view of the problem at hand. I help the team to think more broadly, understand the full context, the underlying backend infrastructure, and take a more holistic view to solving user problems.

Lead with empathy

I believe in leading with empathy, fairness, and transparency, meeting people where they are. I don't shy away from speaking up for what's right for the team and the customers. A healthy team is a happy team - I believe that a leader should inspire and influence through their actions.

I'm a seasoned experience design leader with 18+ years of experience shaping impactful, user-centered experiences across global teams. At PayPal, I lead a world-class content design team, driving strategic initiatives with content, design, product, and engineering.

My strengths - Design thinking, content strategy, systemic problem-solving, UX writing, and leading high-performing teams. I influence design, help build experience strategies, and believe that a great user experience is not just about words or visuals, but also about intention, clarity, and impact. As a manager, I use Claude extensively to create templates, frameworks, and presentations. The latest framework I created was a Content Design ways of working playbook.

How we do design, Content & strategy

work from my team

My way of working I usually brainstorm with my content designers to understand the basics of every project. We deep dive into problem statements, pain points to understand what we are solving for. After a preliminary discussion, the content designer goes back to engage with their designer, have working sessions, and come back with explorations. We brainstorm again, looking at experience approaches, possible tone, voice, language, and terminology directions, always looking at the end-to-end picture. I guide content designers at every step, starting with solving smaller problems, asking the right questions, decoding research insights and user data, building content strategies, etc which eventually leads to crafting high-quality experiences. I also encourage them to showcase their work in reviews and crits for feedback, as that brings in a lot of fresh perspectives. As a leader I believe in empowering my team with the right information, being their guide from time to time and instilling a sense of accountability to deliver high quality craft. Case studies: I have showcased 2 projects (one for limitations and the other for disputes) and some additional projects done by my team members. I guided and helped them create experience approaches, strategize, brainstorm, and deep-dive into solutions.
